Crack Up Cancer (South Florida) will benefit

Kendra’s Kisses

Kendra’s Kisses is a non-profit organization founded by the parents of Kendra, who was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor, medulloblastoma, at the tender age of 2 1/2 years old in September 2005. This tumor, located in the cerebellum part of the brain, prompted immediate surgery. However, the discovery of microscopic cancer cells in Kendra’s spinal fluid indicated a challenging battle ahead. Despite receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, Kendra passed away at home on May 3, 2007, surrounded by her loved ones, just after her fourth birthday and days after her baby sister Laila turned one.

The creation of Kendra’s Kisses was inspired by the spirit and courage of Kendra, whose battle with cancer brought to light the struggles faced by children and their families dealing with similar diagnoses. Determined to support others in these challenging situations, Kendra’s parents aim to provide assistance and hope through their organization. Kendra’s Kisses represents not only a tribute to Kendra’s memory but also a beacon of support and solidarity for affected families. For those interested in contributing to their cause, Kendra’s Kisses welcomes contact via email at Kendraskisses@bellsouth.net, encouraging the community to join them in their mission to help others.

Meet The Comedians

JIMMY SHUBERT

Whether it’s stealing scenes in major motion pictures or blowing the roof off any comedy club from Hawaii to Halifax, Jimmy Shubert is stand-up comedy’s next breakout star. Jimmy’s comedy routine is usually performed with an observational point of view, in comedic short-story form, and typically focuses on poking fun at pop culture.

CHRISTINE HURLEY

Christine Hurley loves what she does,  making people laugh!  She has performed several times at the Boston Garden for Denis Leary’s “Comics Come Home” which supports the Cam Neely Cancer Foundation!  You have seen Christine on Nick at Nite’s “Search for America’s Funniest Mom Contest,” season 9 of the Food Network’s “Great Food Truck Race” and “America’s Got Talent!”  Christine Hurley is a regular at Aruba Ray’s Comedy Club in Aruba,  the Montreal Comedy Festival,  the Laugh Factory in Las Vegas, and every comedy club, restaurant, and fraternal hall in New England!  Christine is the most booked comic on the East Coast and lives up to her title as “The Queen of Boston Comedy!”

RAHN HORTMAN

Funny, clever, and witty are just a few words that describe Rahn Hortman. His style allows him to find the humor in tough real-life situations, making him extremely relatable and a crowd favorite. Christopher Titus describes Rahn’s style as “Clean Not Soft.” His television appearances include the Circle Network and JFL TV. He was a semi-finalist in ABFF Comedy Wings (HBO), Nickelodeon’s “Nick Mom Nite Out”, Comedy Time TV, The TBN Network, and Mav TV. He is currently filming the pilot episode of the sitcom “Advisors”. He taped his first special “Good Game” on DryBar Comedy and can be heard regularly on Sirius XM radio. He was named Creative Loafing’s “Best Stand-Up Comedian” in 2019.

CATHERINE MALONEY

At first glance, Catherine Maloney seems like a typical mom. Except, this mom sees teachable moments in the show Snapped, and entertains clubs and colleges around the country. Catherine is a New York native with sharp stand-up comedy skills. First off, she was named the Best Stand-Up Comic by Tampa Bay Creative Loafing. Another contest she’s won is the “Biggest Jerk” Comedy Contest. Secondly, she finds sarcastic humor in everyday topics. Those topics include financial struggles, raising children, and relationships. Last, but not least, Catherine enjoys interacting with each audience. She does this to create funny, unscripted moments along the way. As a result, anyone in the audience is fair game.
